American Legion builds ramp for disabled veteran. Southington, CT – The American Legion Kiltonic Post 72 Service Officer, Igino Torone, received a call from a neighbor who had a friend in need of help. The friend, who is a Korean War veteran and, in a wheelchair, has difficulties trying to get in and out of the house because of the steps in front of their house. Mr. Torone was able to reach out to the veteran’s spouse who invited him out to their home to see what work would be needed. Upon leaving, Mr. Torone went to Home Depot, as they have helped in similar cases, was able to donate the wood needed to build the ramp. Legion Officer Cliff Wright volunteered to build the ramp for the veteran. The couple was very thankful to the American Legion and Home Depot for the help.
