Dependents Education Assistance ProgramThe Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance Program (DEA) (also known as the Chapter 35 benefit program) provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of certain veterans. Under the program, the dependent can receive up to 45 months of educational benefits, which may be used for degree or certificate programs, apprenticeship, or on-the-job training.
