5/15/17 Updates

Annual Picnic will be held at American Legion Post 45 in Meriden on June 24th from 1pm to 5pm

Do not open any e-mails with attachments from anyone you do not know!  Over the weekend a new ransom ware virus has emerged and is wreaking havoc worldwide.  Make sure you backup any important information on your computer so if you do become infected you can restore your information.

Congratulations to Steve McCarty, Chet Strachel and John DeSantis for becoming our latest Life members of Post 72!  Very well deserved as these gentlemen have gone above and beyond over the years supporting our Post!

Realty meeting tonight at 6pm.

Auxiliary meeting tonight at 7pm.

This Saturday is touch-a-truck at the Southington drive-in, Legion family members will be on hand to support our Auxiliary cooking, parking cars and whatever other help they may need.

Members of the Realty board and the commander met with local artist Sue Riley who has been commissioned in the recent past to do various murals around town.  She has offered her services to do a mural on the north side of the building to be completed on or about July 15th.  James Starr, an eagle scout came in together with his parents to explain how he would like to organize and complete the task of getting the mural completed.  Together we came up with an attractive design, representing each branch of service while also representing Post 72.  There will be no cost to the post as $4,000.00 has been donated to cover expenses.

Attached is a document with the schedule for Memorial Day Services in our community.

Attached is a flyer for our second major fund raiser for our Centennial celebration in 2019!  Dan LaRosa will be in the hall June 17th at 6pm, $20 tickets may be purchased on line, in the post lounge or for $25 at the door.  F.Y.I. the quarter jug in the lounge has raised over $150.00 for the cause!
