What a great weekend for the American Legion family!  With the help of everyone we knocked it out of the park in the steak booth!  Thanks to everyone that helped to make last weekend so successful!  One more weekend to go, if you can help stop down and signup for a couple of hours shift, it really is a lot of fun!

The house committee is looking for someone with experience putting down carpet tiles.  We would like to get the carpet installed in the lounge the week of October 15th.  If you can help please give me a call.

If you have a birthday, baby shower or any special occasion coming up, consider the post hall! The American Legion is clean, affordable and is now smoke free! Call Chuck at 860 628 6379 for more information, help support our post!

There is a collection box in the post lounge for helping the victims of hurricane Harvey, so far, we are getting a great response, two car loads of items for the people of Texas.

The realty committee is looking for an artist to help with a couple of drawings of possible modifications we can make to improve our post.  Call me at the number below if you can help.

All military retirees are cordially invited to attend the annual Retiree Appreciation Day/Seminar sponsored by Naval Submarine Base New London on Saturday, October 14th, 2017 at Dealey Center Theater.  The Seminar starts at 0900.  Following the formal presentations there will be information stations and display tales set up in Morton Hall Gymnasium from 1200-1400.  The Sub Base ID card Office and the Auto Decal office will not be open.  For further information on the seminar events, contact the Retired Activities (RAO) at 860-694-3284.  The RAO hours are 0900-1200 Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 0900-1500 Tuesday and Thursday.  Note:  All persons desiring entrance to the Submarine Base must show a valid military or retired ID at the gate.

After the Apple Harvest Festival, the lounge will be serving hamburgers, chicken wings, fries and more 3 – 7 during the week and 1 -5 on the weekends.  Also look for a great pizza on Friday nights as well as Saturday night dinners starting soon too!
