1/23/17 Updates

Monthly meeting of the American Legion membership is on Feb. 14  2017. Meeting start’s at 7:00 PM sharp. The Annual Realty Corp. Report will be on the agenda during membership portion. All members are encouraged to attend. Any questions please call 860-628-0168.

Aux Chocolate Fest

The mid-winter conference is coming up January 27th through the 29th in Trumbull, more info to follow.

Last week Dennis and I delivered over 50 coats as well as sweatshirts, sweatpants and many other items for the cold weather to Southington Community Services.  Thank you everyone that donated and got the word out!

The legion family cookbook is available in the post lounge and it’s only $10. They make a great stocking stuffer and there are not many left.   Proceeds will be going to support VA&R and Children & Youth.  There really are some great recipes in it!

 

Every Tuesday night the ladies of post 72 meet at 7pm in the post lounge to crochet mittens, scarves, blankets and such for our local veterans.  Stop down to help or to learn or even just make a donation.  I will be posting pictures of their latest works soon.

This week’s soup will be beef barley.

Wednesday American Legion dart team #1 is away against Ryder’s and dart team #2 is home against Mr. Bentleys cool ones.

Thursday night is setback.

Friday night pizza is back! Steve & Patty will be making pizza’s and calzones starting around 6pm and going until they run out (which usually doesn’t take long)!  Call 860 621 4243 anytime Friday after 11am to place your to-go order!

Once again SHS Band is selling their great subs for superbowl cost is only $7.00  and I’m asking everyone to support them and help Keegan Smith with getting order’s. Keegan competed in American legion Oratorical Contest this year and is planning on going to Boys State, and is a pretty good kid.  No he is not related.

You have to order by January 27. They’re delivered February 5 before 3 PM and you can pay $ 7.00   when Keegan delivers them

There are 3 kinds are subs. Turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, and Italian (ham, salami, and cheese).

You can send email to Keegan at ksmitty134@gmail.com   Let him know how many of each type of sub you want and also your address and phone number.

Hope everyone had a fun, safe New Year’s celebration with family and friends last weekend, (I know I did).
