12/28/16 Updates

Hope everyone had a fun, safe holiday with family and friends last weekend, (I know I did).  Christmas eve we delivered Christmas dinners to families in Southington a little down on their luck this year, picture to follow (Norm).

Attached is a flyer for dental care at Lincoln college of dental hygiene formally Branford hall.  This is a great opportunity and for a limited time only so please act now!   Dental Deal

Last year we collected over 50 coats that went to people in our community!  If you have any gently used coats, hats or scarves, (children and adults sizes) please drop them off in the post lounge, thanks!

The legion family cookbook is available in the post lounge and it’s only $10. They make a great stocking stuffer and there are not many left.   Proceeds will be going to support VA&R and Children & Youth.  There really are some great recipes in it!

Every Tuesday night the ladies of post 72 meet at 7pm in the post lounge to crochet mittens, scarves, blankets and such for our local veterans.  Stop down to help or to learn or even just make a donation.  I will be posting pictures of their latest works soon.

Wednesday American Legion dart team #1 is home against Chris’ Restaurant and dart team #2 is away against Franco American.  To view our standings, visit  http://centralctdarts.com/2016-2017-schedules/

12/19/16 Updates

Besides the CONVEX Teams sending 38 boxes of goodies, we were able to get three donated (by the American Legion) laptops and cameras to Bill and his crew just in time for Christmas SKYPE talks with family.   Awesome! We received all three laptops 💻. Last one came in yesterday. We are working on setting up a morale room to set up the laptops. This will be a huge boost for sure. Thanks again for the coordination and help on this.

Big thanks to everyone who stopped by Saturday and helped us raise over $250.00. And fill the box with items for the Veterans who live at Connecticut Veterans home. Jackie asked us to leave the donation box so others could stop by this week and make donations of new clothing for the guys at Veterans home. Currently there are only 3 females staying there so they do not need any more clothes for ladies. God Bless you all and Merry Christmas,  Steve Pintarich.

Please lock your vehicle and stow any personal items out of sight if you stop down at the post or are going to any stores or restaurants in the downtown area (or really anywhere for that matter) as there have been a lot of unlocked cars with items out in the open being ransacked recently.  I called the police department and they are aware of the situation and are adding extra patrols.
