10/4/16 Updates

Even with the rain, last weekend’s Apple Harvest Festival went pretty well for Post72!  Great picture in the Bristol press of our own Rob Mitchell making steak sandwiches in the booth.  The ladies did an awesome job on their float, (see pictures and videos on our facebook page).  Thanks to everyone that helped out!

A great article on the front page of the Southington Citizen featuring our commander Steve McCarty!  Great job Steve and thank you for your service!

Sorry for the late notice on this.

Here is notice of special “Korean War Medal of Gratitude” which will be presented to any of our Korean War vets who apply.  It is to be presented by the Korean Ambassador to the US on October 14th (exact time and place to be announced).  All the vet needs to do is complete the simple one page application and attach his DD-214.  We have copies DD-214’s in the Post Service office.  I have printed copies of the application.  They must be in Congressman Larson’s office by October 5th.  His office has asked for our help in getting as many vets to apply as possible.  Can you get this word out? Thanks, Hank Lucas, Chaplin

The Apple Harvest Festival starts again this Friday night and we need your help!  Stop down at the post and signup for a shift this weekend working in the booth as a server, cashiers or cook.  You could also help with the parking lot, be a runner or work in the kitchen.  The more people that help the easier it will be for us all.

Wednesday we will have dart practice at 7pm, mandatory captains meeting.

No hump day hoagie this week.

Thursday night is setback.

Boscov has a 15% discount October 18.
