5/26/16 – Updates

Well the first official ride of our Legion Riders as a chapter last weekend was a big success!  See attached photo taken at VFW post 511.  From left to right Mark Foley Ed Moran, David Achilli Bob Martin, Dennis Beauregard and Jane Short.


Attached is a flyer for a bus trip June forth that will visit local American Legion Posts, at the end of the day we will have a cookout with hotdogs & hamburgers either on our last stop or when we get back to 72.  If you are interested stop down and sign up only $25 per person! (and the bus has a bathroom!)


Hump day hoagie this week is chicken salad with lettuce tomato and onion on an eight inch roll for only five bucks.  Come grab one and enjoy the music on the green!  Open house in the post lounge every Wednesday starting this week running through August.


Attached is a flyer for our annual Memorial Day ceremonies’ and parade.


Southington Grief Support for Partners and Spouses will begin it’s summer session on June 1, 2016.  The session will run through August meeting on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.  In addition we will have a social event the 4th Wednesday of the month.


The S.A.L. Father’s Day Breakfast is June 19th, see attached flyer.


Our annual Legion picnic is next month at post 45 and as always is going to be a blast!  More info to follow.


Friday Night Pizza with Steve!   Friday from 5-9PM Pizza cooked to order, a one item large pizza just $10, each additional item $1.  Slices available for $1.50 each, call 860 621 4243 to place an order to go.  I swear best pizza in town!  He sells out every week so order yours early!  Steve is now making calzones as well for $10.  Each additional item $1.00.


DJ Askie Entertainment will be providing karaoke Friday nights from 8 till ?? so stop down for some fun!

5/10/16 Updates

Well it was the best Mother’s Day Breakfast the S.A.L. has ever had!  Serving over 160 patrons!  Thanks to everyone  that helped make it such a success!

Busy week at the post with the new paver’s installation beginning in the  front and refinishing the hall floor Wednesday morning.

Legion meeting Tuesday at 7pm.

Hump day hoagie this week is Italian sausage, peppers, onions and cheese on an eight inch roll for $5.00.

This weekend is Legion College, (I’m going Saturday morning if you need a ride) and Touch a truck at the drive-in, see attached.

Because of Legion College there will be no pizza’s or DJ Friday night but rest assured fun will be had by all!  Steve and Matt will return next week.
